Rémi Leflere
Rémi has always been deeply influenced by science fiction universes. Drawn to what he calls “dark and gritty worlds,” he quickly immersed himself in the realm of miniatures and video games, which allowed him to explore worlds with striking aesthetics.
I first discovered his work through a mutual friend and was immediately captivated. His scenes of uprisings and bustling cityscapes, rich in detail, instantly sparked my imagination. I could already picture myself wandering the streets of Geth just by looking at Rémi’s artwork, long before he even joined the team.
After an exceptionally promising test, where he depicted citizens from the city’s poorest districts gazing at the wealthier areas, so close yet completely out of reach, Rémi officially became part of our creative crew. Together, we set out to design new characters who would soon join the Warbound miniature range.
Rémi is an incredibly dedicated artist. Despite constant reminders not to overwork himself, he often pushes a concept to its very limits. Shifting between illustration and 3D modeling during the creative process, he can spend entire nights battling with an idea that refuses to take shape, only to send me the triumphant result at 4 AM, the product of his artistic struggle.
One of his greatest strengths as an illustrator is his ability to draw from an existing faction’s design to maintain a strong visual identity while introducing bold new concepts that ensure each character stands out. His work on The Amalgam exceeded all my expectations, and his designs for The Eminence gave the Institute an air of decadent haute couture.
